The typhoon season occurs between July and September, with August and September being particularly prone to typhoon action. If there is a typhoon approaching, please listen to the weather forecasts and be careful if you have to go out. Typhoon Preparation 1. You should bring outside items which are not tied down inside, or else tie them down firmly. 2. Close your storm shutters to prevent windows from being broken by flying objects. If you don't have storm shutters, then it is a good idea to place masking tape in an " X " on the windows to prevent shattering if they are broken. 3. As you may not be able to use electricity, gas, water and 電話ephone, it is a good idea to have an emergency kit prepared, including a radio to listen to weather reports. 4. Make sure you have spare charged batteries for all appliances. 5. Contact the City Hall Disaster Prevention and Measures Division to find out where your nearest evacuation shelter is BEFORE the typhoon hits. Citizen's Safety Division 11-1 Yamashita-cho 216-1213 |
