Support in the Birth and Health of Your Child

Postnatal Care

Those who do not have someone to care for them after having giving birth, or are concerned about their health, can admit themselves into a birth center following their discharge from hospital. At such centers, they can receive guidance on nursing and taking care of their newborn (costs are borne by the individual).

Home Visits

Midwives and public health nurses are available for home visits in order to give advice on birth and child-raising. Please send the “Newborn Home Visit Request Slip” (postcard) found in your “Okaasan Set” to City Hall to apply for this service.

Konnichiwa Baby Program

Program which involves calling on all homes (excluding those who have received the home visit service above) with infants less than 4 months of age, to listen to concerns and provide information.
