Single-parent Family Medical Costs Subsidy

Financial aid aimed at single-parent families or orphans (income restrictions apply).

Childcare Allowance

Families which are single-parent, or in which one or both parents have serious disabilities and a child under 18 years of age are eligible to receive this allowance. If the child has disabilities of moderate or greater severity, the allowance may be received until they are 20 years of age.

Citizens' Welfare Allowance

Citizens who have resided in the city for more than 1 year, and satisfy certain requirements, are eligible to receive this allowance.

Orphans Education Allowance(Child Welfare Division)

Persons caring for a child still undergoing compulsory education in a household without one or both parents, or where one or both parents is faces serious disability.

※Excluding those with children admitted into a welfare facility.

Single Parent and Widow Fund

Funds are loaned to single mothers and fathers caring for children without a spouse, children with no parents, and to help widows gain financial independence and pay for school fees.

Ai no Fukushi Fund

Donations are used to provide children of single-parent homes with Book Cards. Eligible children will receive their card when they enter middle school.

Dispatch of Family Support Staff to Single-parent Families

Support staff are dispatched to single-parent or widowed families that need temporary help with the care of their child(ren).
