Consent to receive the vaccination

Only people who want to receive the vaccination can receive it.

In some cases, receiving the vaccination can make you feel unwell.

Make your own decision as to whether or not you want to receive the vaccination.

Do not force others to get the vaccination, and do not discriminate against those who have not received it.

Period during which vaccinations can be received

From February 17, 2021 to February 2022

Who can receive vaccination shots, and in what order

1. People who work at hospitals
2. People who are 65 years old or older
3. People who work in facilities with old people or people with illnesses
4. The remaining population
People who are at least 16 years old can get the vaccination shot. People who have previously had covid-19 can also get the shot.

Inoculation tickets - tickets required to receive the vaccination shots

The City Hall will send you inoculation tickets which are needed to receive the vaccination shots. Tickets will be sent out in the following order:

Those who are 75 years old or older (tickets will be sent out in the middle of April, 2021)
People over 65 years old (to be sent around the end of May, 2021)
The remaining population (the period of distribution is yet to be decided).

Number of injections:

2 times
Pfizer's vaccine requires a second injection to be administered three weeks after the first.

Cost of vaccination

You do not need to pay. Free of charge.

Location of the vaccination shot

If you live in Kagoshima city, you can get the vaccination shot at a designated hospital in Kagoshima city.

You will need to make an appointment in order to receive the vaccination shot. The means of making an appointment is yet to be decided. 

Even if you do not live in Kagoshima City, you may still be able to receive a vaccination shot within the city.

Vaccines that are contracted by the Japanese government

Vaccines 2 and 3 have yet to be approved for use in Japan.
