When visiting by public transport

• Alight from the Kagoshima City View bus at “Saigodozou-mae”. The museum is a 1 minute walk.
• Alight from the city tram at “Asahi-dori” or the city bus at “Kinsei-cho”. The museum is a 5 minute walk. 

When visiting by car

• The museum is 10 minutes by car from Kagoshima-Chuo Station.

Car parking

Car parking: 6 bays

There is a parking lot on the right side of the road when facing the entrance of the museum.

As there is only a limited amount of parking spaces we would ask you to consider taking public transport when possible. 

• Shared parking space for Kagoshima Modern Literature Museum, Kagoshima Merchen Museum and Municipal Art Museum: 31 regular cars, 3 large buses (7 minibuses)
  Parking hours: 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  Bus parking must be reserved. Please contact the museum in advance.
  Where possible, please use public transportation as parking space is limited.
  
• You can also use the Kagoshima City Hall Minato-dori Annex parking lot. Open: [Week days] 8:30 ~ 19:00, [Sat, Sun, Public Holidays] 9:00 ~ 19:00
• If the Kagoshima City Museum of Art parking lot is full you can use the parking lots at the Kagoshima Prefectural Museum of Culture Reimeikan or at the Kagoshima City Modern Literature and “Marchen” Fairy Tale Museums.  (Only available to those who view the exhibitions, participate in lectures, or use the café.) Open: 9:00 ~ 18:00 (please refrain from parking for a long period of time.) ※You may be unable to use these parking lots during scheduled holidays and exhibitions.

If you have taken National Highway 10 in the direction of Miyazaki (Yoshino/Iso)

（1）Pass Saigodozou and turn left at the traffic light with the sign “Kagoshima City Museum of Art”.

 

 

（2）There is a parking lot on the left-hand side.

 

 

（3）There is handicapped parking ahead of the general parking.

 

 

（4）There is also a parking area for bicycles further ahead.

 

（5）Further on, you will see the bus parking space.

 

（6）Turn right in front of the bus parking space, and you will find the entrance to the regular parking space.
